Stock photography agencies spend a lot of time and money on image tagging (Title, description, Keywording) and metadata generation for better SEO. As the number of images is in thousands, the manual effort holds back their scalability and reduce profit margin. Odlica’s automation technology streamlines the whole pipeline end-to-end.

Woning media is Netherlands-based real-estate photography agency. They are a premium distributor for high quality images, and they are on a mission to automate their workflow from the beginning to the end. We are their partners on their AI automation journey.

Annotating images on scale
To sell images on a stock platform, photography agencies use human annotators to give each image a title, description and relevant keywords for the image to appear in search. Each stock platform also have constraints and recommendations for the annotations. The solution to be build had to adhere to those recommendations and provide a human level annotations

  2. Abiding by stock platforms rules
  3. Running costs should be as little as possible to increase profit margin

To over come the challenges, we built a specific model for each task to get the maximum possible quality.
This happens by giving each image a mathematical description and converting this representation to a textual description that captures the image text
  • Fine-tuned a computer vision model for each task to ensure the best possible result
  • Ensured different results for similar images to avoid marking as spam by stock platform
  • Built a deployment pipeline that scales in to zero when there is no workload
